Mauricio Escobar is a Guatemalan producer trained at EICTV, in Cuba. He worked as a production director for Lume Filmes in Brazil and is currently a general producer for La Danta Films. He was head of production for the films PÓLVORA EN EL CORAZÓN by Camila Urrutia, and TREMBORES and LA LLORONA by Jayro Bustamante, among others. Producer of feature films such as CADEJO BLANCO by Justin Lerner and O SIGNO DAS TETAS by Frederico Machado. He is currently producing CHERRI by Fabián Suárez Ávila and FIDELIDAD by César Díaz, which was selected by the Hubert Bals Fund and with whom he participated in the Cannes Film Festival’s Atelier de la Cinefondation. Escobar has taught production classes at the EICTV in Cuba and the Francisco Marroquín University in Guatemala. He is currently developing various international co-productions with La Danta Films.
